Our strategy

Our sustainability strategy is part of our corporate strategy. Economic efficiency, climate protection, transparency and the well-being of our employees guide our actions.

Trianel supports the energy transition and leads the way in transforming our economy. We see ourselves as designers of a new energy world that meets the requirements of the 21st century. We can make the greatest contribution to sustainable development in climate protection. To this end, we are further developing our role as a hub between generation and consumption for the increasingly digital and renewable energy worlds. On this basis, Trianel offers municipal utilities and other customer groups solutions for a renewable, decentralised and flexible energy industry.

We see sustainability as a driver for the strategic and organisational development of the company and the stakeholders associated with Trianel.

You can find out more about our strategy in our voluntary sustainability report in accordance with the VSME standard.

Environmental and climate protection

As an energy trading company offering a comprehensive range of services related to energy trading processes and as a project developer for renewable energies, Trianel is actively shaping the energy transition. We optimise energy generation, enable the economical procurement of electricity and gas for municipal utilities, manage energy trading processes and facilitate energy transition projects.

Our objective is to reduce our direct emissions to near zero by 2030. We aim to reduce our Scope 3 emissions by 20 percent by 2035. At present, we are unable to specify our further emissions reduction pathway through 2045, as key technical and regulatory factors remain uncertain and cannot yet be reliably quantified.

A key priority for us is to support our customers in the transformation of the energy system and to continue advancing the expansion of renewable energy in an environmentally responsible and resource-efficient manner.

Social and society

Trianel's more than 400 employees are the driving force behind Trianel. Their commitment, innovative spirit and energy enable the implementation of an economical and forward-looking energy transition. The safety, well-being, and development potential of everyone are at the heart of our human resources strategy. Trianel fosters an inspiring work culture in which every individual can actively contribute and in which the joy of realising ideas together is just as important as fair remuneration.

As part of project development, we focus on early communication on site and involve affected communities and their interests in our planning.

Governance

As a responsible company, it is part of Trianel's self-image and commitment to comply with and adhere to national and international regulations, internal company rules and corporate values. For this reason, Trianel has established a comprehensive compliance management system.

The compliance management system covers all values and principles, measures and processes, as well as structures required by the company management to ensure that the company management, employees and third parties behave in a manner that complies with the rules.

Fair Play – Trianel Code of Conduct

Trianel and its entire staff have adopted the principles of fair play, transparency and respect, and consider them a fundamental tenet for their day-to-day work.

The company has introduced an extensive compliance management system to safeguard and monitor compliance with the applicable regulations and required conduct. The Code of Conduct, which gives our staff and business partners an overview of our fundamental rules, is part of this system.

Trianel Code of Conduct for Suppliers

As a leading municipal utility cooperation, Trianel relies on an entrepreneurial alliance that pursues common goals and represents shared values. Together with our suppliers, we want to shape the present and create a future worth living through economically, ecologically and socially responsible business practices.

To underline these values, Trianel has drawn up a Code of Conduct for Suppliers. Our suppliers are expected to comply with this Code of Conduct.

In addition to the standards and principles of the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the national requirements of Germany’s Supply Chain Act (LkSG), the values already practised by Trianel and codified in the Trianel Code of Conduct have also been incorporated. After all, only those who treat each other fairly, transparently and equally will be able to realise ideas together in the future.

In addition, Trianel has appointed a human rights officer who, as a confidential reporting point, receives specific tip-offs about suspected human rights and environmental violations by Trianel itself or a contractual partner.

Reporting point

Any information about suspected violations of laws and internal regulations, as well as suspected human rights and environmental violations, can be reported to our ombudsman and human rights officer. The information received will be treated in the strictest confidence and will only be disclosed to a Trianel contact with the consent of the whistle-blower.

The ombudsman and human rights officer is available to the whistle-blower as a point of contact at any time and provides a legally protected and confidential area outside the company.

The aim is to create an environment in which everyone can work together in harmony. Investigating and preventing potential violations and crimes, such as corruption, is essential to protect both individuals and the company from significant reputational and financial damage.
